The ocean is vast
The old man's luck is gone now
Into the deep sea
The old man's luck is gone now
Into the deep sea
Explanation
I choose to do a Haiku is because it really represent the book. In the book, Santiago was not able to catch a fish
for 84 days. In Spanish, he is considered salao which is the worst form of unlucky. This Haiku represent that the
ocean is a big place. It is telling us that the old man's luck has disappear into the sea. Even though the old man
is unlucky and hasn't caught a fish for 84 days, he still continues to fish even at his age. This also shows his
determination to catch the giant marlin.
